The Path of Peace

We have so much to learn about God’s peace.  His peace that passes understanding.  Many think the path of peace will be obvious and make sense to them.  Naive, they find themselves caught in a trap of avoiding conflict for the sake of peace.  Avoiding conflict is often wise, except when the Holy Spirit leads you in to face your enemy.

Think of young David with the lion, the bear, and later the giant Goliath.1  Think about the miraculous deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt.  Leaving in joy overloaded with gold, silver, food, and clothing2 they are led by Moses (the Spirit) out of Egypt.  Everyone is all smiles.  God graciously leads them through the desert to avoid enemies because He knows they will lose heart and turn back to bondage.3  They find themselves camped at the Red Sea and they hear the thundering hooves of Pharaoh’s chariots racing to destroy them.  Quickly ready to trade the smiles of joy they left with for the terror of their worst fears;4 thinking what they believed was too good to be true.  Tragedy was chasing them down.  Moses stepped forward and warned them to trust God and watch the miracle He was about to perform.5

The Israelites had a lifetime of experience stored in their minds that no one can defeat Pharaoh.  In their minds they were going to die, but God was giving them the perfect situation to tap into their spirit and believe something outside of their experience; to believe in the goodness of God, that He would never lead them to the Red Sea and not deliver them.  They had no idea the path of peace, God provided for them, was through the Red Sea.  In Hebrews we learn that Israelites passed through the Red Sea by faith.6  That path of peace can only be tread by faith.  The chariots of Pharaoh tried to follow and met their watery grave.7  In an instant the Israelites were set free from their worst fears.

Today, may you hear the invitation of God’s Spirit to walk with Him on the path of peace.  Your destiny and purpose is realized by following this path.  Walk in faith.  Trust God has good in store for you, plans to prosper you, and give you hope.8   Know in your heart He has the best for you and the grace to take you into your promised land.  God’s will is good, perfect, and pleasing.9  Find rest for your soul as Jesus leads you on His path of peace.

Follower of Jesus, bringing living water to dry ground. Along the lines of Gideon Rob believes many others are more qualified to share God's heart, but once again God chooses the weak and the foolish things of the world to share His glory.
